We are so proud to work with The Ruby Habitat Foundation to offer these hand-knitted, locally produced, and exceptionally high-quality wool hats for $50 each. Each hat has a leather patch attached with a NEW logo designed by Martha and Craig Woodson's grandson, Matthew, now a physician in Houston. The Ruby Habitat Foundation is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the natural resources, and social and economic makeup of the Ruby Valley and Southwest Montana. They are a non-profit, working ranch in Southwest Montana dedicated to fulfilling the vision of their founders, Craig and Martha Woodson.
Their mission encourages balance between agriculture and wildlife, and they allow managed access to the ranch for a wide range of activities, from flyfishing to birdwatching (they have identified 131 species on the ranch so far!! Here’s a link to the complete list). Their educational outreach programs include field trips with local school kids (from Kindergarten through College), to Wildlife Speakers and other programs. We are proud to call them our neighbors and our friends, and we are thrilled to now call them a partner we can support.
The hats themselves are made with wool from Brown Sheep Company, a family-run business in Nebraska that Hannah, who has been knitting relying on for yarn since she was 6. The 100% US Wool is selected for both its quality and the fact that it's a fellow family business.
